Flowise competes at Red Dot Award 2019

Flowise flow regulators: aesthetics, personalised design and respect for the environment

Flowise is going to compete in the “Product Design” category of the Red Dot Award 2019 (www.red-dot.org) with 5 Serie,  modern flow regulator for cooling water used by plastic molding machinery. This Award, born in 1955, is one of the most important design awards for designers and producers from all over the world; the winning products are annually awarded through an official ceremony and exhibited at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.

Flowise flow regulators are the only ones in global market made starting from mechanical work of plexiglass block (PMMA), material that combines functionality and aesthetics even in industrial components.

From furniture to lighting technology, from design to fashion accessories, plexiglass has always stimulated the interest and creativity of many designers and famous brands thanks to its elegance, lightness and strength. Transparent more than glass and as versatile as plastic, this material has rewritten the rules of industrial design, becoming absolute protagonist in this sector. Just think of the creations of famous designers such as Ross Lovegrove, Karim Rashid, Joe Colombo or Artemide chandeliers, Brilli collection (by Jacopo Foggini), Zanotta tables or F.lli Guzzini cutlery, just to mention a few examples.

Attention to the aesthetics of the Flowise 5 Serie flow regulator also goes through its innovative design studied according to the OEM (Original Equipment Machine) logic. It can be customized according to the specific graphic requests of machinery manufacturers in which the component integrates perfectly from the chromatic point of view as original part of the machinery.

Not only aesthetics, design made in Italy and functionality, Flowise is also committed to environmental sustainability.

In these days, thanks to an EU funding of over 6.5 million euro, the European research project MMAtwo started involving 13 partners in the development of technologies and processes for the chemical recycling of post-consumer waste based on PMMA.

Flowise is in line with this important initiative through a particular focus on recycling and on principles of circular economy. Industrial waste coming from flow regulators production are recovered and regenerated to produce new plexiglass sheets that maintain the intrinsic properties of PMMA, through collaboration with an Italian company specialised in zero impact recycling of this polymer.
